This, one of a kind peice, has been been embellished with hand cut glass, frosted with the silouette of a bonsai tree. The top is made out of drift wood and has been carved out to allow room for three simple tea lights. Supported with bamboo. Rested on 4 gel cushioned feet to prevent scratch marks on your surface.

Bonsai trees have a history stretching back at least to the early times of Egyptian culture. The Japanese see bonsai tree meaning as a fusion of strong ancient believes with Eastern philosophies of harmony between man, nature, and the soul whereas to the Buddhist monks, bonsai was a symbol of honor and prestige.

The wood to make this project was found at County line, Malibu Beach, CA.

These are actually Danny Kass’s feet that have been resonated and cast to promote an item for Nike. Since the promotion was over I decided to make them into cool Book Ends.

Every vein is visible in this structure, and every toe is well defined. The reclaimed wood comes from an old house that was remodeled in local area. Wood has been beautifully hand sanded to reveal curved, smooth edges with a burgundy mahogany stain. Finished with 4 clear rubber feet on each book end on the bottom to secure from surface sctatches and for a bit of grip.

Book Ends can also hold small books! just lay the foot down, See LAST PICTURE!

The foot itself is a size 10 men, The wood that sits underneath the foot is as follows:

(wood only) Base: 3.25 inches

(wood only) Length: 4 Inches

Each Book end weighs about 5 to 7 lbs, no more than 10 lbs each. Heavy resin was used to cast these feet and are NOT hollow. Very Solid, heavy and durable. Feels like stone.

The foot is 10 inches tall alone, add the wood under it, and the entire structure stands at 12 inches/ 1ft tall.
Also, the actual foot does not exceed the shape of the wood underneath it, it stands perfectly in the center.
